Most of the separation is in ticket sales and donations.


The reason Texas and Ohio State have much more revenue is huge stadiums that they fill and charge a lot more for each ticket than say UVA does. Michigan too. They have always had more money than most for decades, and trying to compete with that is pointless.

The less wealthy in those conferences don't have that, and the $5 million isn't a huge difference maker in an $80 million budget. My concern about not having a channel is the inability to put our non-football/non-basketball athletes on television as much as the other conferences that have a channel. They're creating a huge recruiting advantage in non-revenue sports. So we need a channel whether it makes as much as theirs or not.
